Women who are also suffering from this dreaded condition are also experiencing, but limited, thinning of hair. It can either be at the front, sides, or crown. However, it likely less for women to experience total or permanent baldness.

Another type of alopecia is called scarring. A rare condition that occurs that causes an inflammation scars and damages to the follicles, it is usually permanent. Symptoms of this includes scalp itching and pain.

There are many ways and methods are now being used to avoid or completely prevent this problem. Avoiding certain medicines, reducing stress, taking adequate protein and iron in your food, and proper care can actually reduce the possibility of alopecia.
